To do or not to do !

Somedays, at work, one just feels so burnt out that one doesn't feel like doing anymore. However, when you look up and see your destination, you realise that there is still a long way to go before the end of the day. These are the days when one remembers / needs to remember gud ol thingz. Reminds me of an old saying that my dad used to tell me, since my 1st or 2nd grade....it goes something like this..

"The most important result of all education is the ability to do a thing, that ought to be done, whether you like it or not. But however early a man's formal education begins, this is probably the last lesson he learns thoroughly."

Not Everything counts !

On a more serious note, this is so true in life. Somethings can't just be bought or counted, no matter who you are or what you are. Many times in life, we just don't realise this. For instance, a simple 'Smile' or an honest 'Thank You', sometimes makes you feel a million dollars....a satisfaction dat the money itself ain't gonna give. As they say it...Somethings can't be measured...they just need to be felt /experienced.

Stillness....n...serenity - "In a moment of Peace"

This was shot on an extremely windy autumn afternoon. But for some strange reason, all got quiet and still for a brief 10 minute period, when I managed to click this one.

My favorite get away spot. Standing by the side and looking at Geese teach their little goslings how to swim. Take my word, it is really interesting to watch the training sessions. The old goose teaching the little one....some tricks of its trade. Guess what! The Geese too scold their goslings, if they don't listen intently to the lessons. It's really fascinating to watch them. On a lighter note, well you may call it, "finding peace with the geese" :P.

Small things.....in a small world !

Seldom do we notice these beautiful flowers, hidden in tufts of grass...and seldom do we realise that we actually stepped on them. Even if we do trample them, do we care ? But should we care ? Even though these flowers are small, they sure do contribute to making our surroundings that much more beautiful.

I was just thinking of a parallel in our daily life. Many times we are rude to people (colleagues / friends / subordinates) intentionally or unintentionally. Sometimes we realise it, and sometimes we don't. But when we do realise it, how often do we actually take the step of apologising ? We normally don't take that extra step to apologise, if the person concerned isn't someone who would matter to us or someone of a certain level of authority / profession we look up to or respect. But should we ? That's an individual's call.

In life, we never know, who could be what...and whoz help we may need when!

Different Dimensions...

The other day I was sitting in a restaurant in Ludwigshafen for dinner. There was this simple candle in a glass enclosure. I was just looking at it and suddenly realised that from the same point of observation ...I could see the same candle in 2 different dimensions. Luckily had my cam with me and took a snapshot of the same. The first thing that struck my mind, is what people keep telling "out of the box thinking". I have always wondered how people could think outta the box :P. When I tried to relate, I just realised how often in life we all approach problems in the same monotonous fashion. However, if we just step outside our domain and look at the same problem, we would get to see a totally different perspetive and probably a different and more effective solution.

Lightning Storm - Enschede, 29 October 2004 - Nokia 6610i

It was a nice pleasant autumn evening and I was strolling back to my house when all of a sudden this lightning storm hit. Little did I know, as to wut I would see and experience for the next 60 minutes. The roads were empty and everybody ran to shelters. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere and had to pass through the storm. Unfortunately for me, I didn't have a camera with me and had to use my mobile camera with its extremely poor camera to take a few shots and surprisingly, I managed to click one in 90 minutes. This one here is the picture that I managed to capture. It is not the lightning bolt I'm afraid, but just the surrouding area of the lightning :). I'll leave it to your imagination as to how the lightning bolt was!. My apologies for the bad picture quality!

But it sure was an experience of a life time...to be caught in the midst of a lightning storm, and to tell you the truth there were a few huge bolts that fell quite close to where i was standing :) ! But, I'm still here, "Awe-struck", narrating this memorable incident :)!

Many times in the journey of life our paths do criss-cross, although we may be heading for different destinations. Reminds me of the 2nd verse of Kannadasan's song, "Ninaipathellam nadanthuvittal" , which goes like this :

An Eye - Opener !

A must read for one and all, I think. Sure is an eye-opener and shows one the flip side of everything in life. Atleast it sure did help me on how to think in somebody else's shoe, before passing a judgment!
